Ride-On Buggies & UTVs, FAQs
Got questions about our ride-on buggies and UTVs? From age and weight limits to speed, battery life, and terrain use, here are the answers parents ask most about these powerful 24V off-road models.
What age and weight are ride-on buggies suitable for?
Most 24V ride-on buggies are designed for children aged 3–8 years, with larger models able to support older kids too. Weight limits vary by model: the licensed Can-Am 24V two-seater supports up to 60 kg, the Wild Cat buggy is also rated at 60 kg, the Stinger buggy is one of the most spacious with a 10Ah battery, and the “King of UTVs” stands out with an 80 kg capacity, making it the biggest and most powerful option in the range. Always check the individual product specifications for exact limits.
How fast can a ride-on buggy go?
Speed depends on the voltage and motor setup. 24V buggies with 4×200W motors can reach up to 8–9 km/h, often with selectable speed modes for safety. Smaller 12V buggies typically run at 4–5 km/h. High-performance models like the King of UTVs can reach speeds of up to 15 km/h with a 795W 4×4 motor setup and three different speed options.
How long does the battery last and how long does it take to charge?
Battery performance varies by setup and terrain. On average, a 24V buggy with a 7Ah battery runs for 45–90 minutes on a single charge, and charging usually takes 8–10 hours. The Can-Am 24V with dual 7Ah batteries can double the runtime, the King of UTVs comes with a 24V 14Ah battery for extended playtime, and the spacious Stinger buggy runs on a 10Ah battery, offering longer sessions between charges. Extra batteries are also available for purchase.
What safety features do ride-on buggies include?
Most ride-on buggies feature seatbelts, soft-start technology, suspension, and parental remote controls with emergency stop functions. Parents should always supervise play, ensure kids wear shoes (and helmets for rougher play), and check the tyres and battery connections regularly before use.
Can ride-on buggies handle rough terrain?
Yes, many 24V UTVs and buggies are built for light off-road use. With EVA tyres, 4WD options, and suspension systems, they can handle grass, gravel, and dirt paths with ease. For safety, avoid very steep hills, deep mud, or wet surfaces. Some models may use PVC hard plastic tyres and seats instead of EVA wheels and leather seats; these are still durable but can be noisier on hard surfaces.
Do ride-on buggies have parental remote controls?
Yes, most modern ride-on buggies and UTVs include a 2.4G remote control. Parents can steer, adjust speeds, or stop the buggy instantly if needed. This provides peace of mind while kids enjoy the independence of manual driving.
